LGBTQ+ Services
Therapy where you don't have to explain or defend who you are.
Sometimes you want therapy specifically to explore your sexuality, gender, identity, or relationships.
Other times, you just want to talk about anxiety, work, family, dating, grief, trauma, or whatever else is happening in your life without wondering whether your therapist will understand an important part of who you are.
At Congruent Relationships, LGBTQ+ affirming care isn't an add-on to what we do. It has been part of who we are from the beginning.
We provide affirming individual, couples, relationship, teen, and family therapy in Pittsburgh, Irwin, and online throughout Pennsylvania and Utah.

Gender Affirming Care and Surgery Letters

For transgender, nonbinary, and gender-diverse clients pursuing gender-affirming medical care, navigating healthcare requirements can sometimes feel like another obstacle between you and the care you've already spent considerable time considering.
Clinicians at Congruent Relationships can provide assessments and letters of support for gender-affirming surgery when clinically appropriate and within the requirements of the healthcare provider or surgeon.
Our goal is to make this process respectful, collaborative, and affirming rather than treating your gender identity as something you need to "prove."
Because requirements vary among surgeons, insurance companies, and procedures, we'll work with you to determine what documentation is needed and whether one of our clinicians can provide it.
You Don't Have to Fit Into a Box Here
LGBTQ+ people aren't one community with one experience.
Our identities intersect with race, culture, disability, neurodivergence, religion, age, relationships, family, socioeconomic circumstances, and countless other parts of our lives.
You also don't need to arrive at therapy with the perfect label for yourself.
You can be certain.
You can be questioning.
You can change the language you use to describe yourself.
You can decide that a label isn't useful at all.
Therapy can be a place to become more curious about yourself rather than a place where someone else tells you who you are.
