Couples therapy places clinicians in a uniquely complicated ethical position: two clients, one relationship, and a therapist whose own attachment system is activated when the room heats up.

Participants will compare how the APA, AAMFT, ACA, and NASW ethics codes define the “client,” protect confidentiality between partners, build informed consent for conjoint and Telehealth treatment, including a secrets policy, and work through branching dilemmas involving infidelity, intimate partner violence, values conflicts, and even records subpoenas.

Participants will leave with a practical decision-making model and a personal ethics plan they can use immediately.

This training will qualify for Ethics requirement for LMFT/LPC/LCSW/Psychology license renewal.
