Allison Oczko, MA

Pre-Licensed Therapist

I am a pre-licensed clinician finishing my requirements for my license in Marriage and Family Therapy. I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology from Point Park University in 2015 and my Master’s in Clinical-Community Psychology from Point Park University in 2017.  Since then I have completed trainings in the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy, two styles of therapy that may be beneficial for individuals as well as couples.

During my 9 years of experience I have worked in community mental health and private practice settings.  I have worked with individuals and couples presenting with various symptoms, and looked at their concerns through the lens of systems theory, which looks at the systems each individual is a part of.  I practice from a holistic, non-judgmental framework and look at you as a whole, not just your symptoms.  I also practice from an Existential, strengths based perspective where I look at what is meaningful to you and the strengths you bring into the room.  I enjoy helping clients navigate life transitions and work towards confidence and independence.  I respect the courage it took for you to reach out and recognize that it’s an honor to be welcomed into your life.  I value collaboration, transparency, and humor in my work and hope to create an environment where you feel safe trying new things.

I’m currently learning more about financial therapy and plan to obtain CFT certification over the course of the next two years.

When I’m not working or studying you can find me getting tea in the Strip District, reading a good book, or watching a period drama.
